Note: Participants will be given access to the PowerPoint after the presentation to be able to review the information.* This will include some of the most (if not THE most) informative charts you will find on:
General Differences Between High School and College
Differences Between High School and College Specific to Students With Disabilities
Commonly Available College Accommodations
College Accommodations Not Typically Available
Other College Services That May Be Available/Helpful for Students With Disabilities
And other useful pages such as Questions to Review Regarding Disability Documentation Requirements for College, Approaching the Disability Office, and more!
*It is important to do the presentation before giving access to the PowerPoint as there are important exceptions to rules that we need to review, items that need elaboration, and so forth that could otherwise lead to misunderstandings from simply reading charts (whether from our presentation or elsewhere on the internet)

Workshop - 10 Traits Needed For College. Recommended for 9th-12th grade (Fresh - Sen), but before graduation so that the student has time to develop the skills. Covers all 10 soft skills (teamwork, self-advocacy, resourcefulness, critical thinking, communication, stress management/resiliency, accountability, self-discipline, goal setting, self awareness) and several subcategories such as assertiveness training, time management, and learning strengths and weaknesses (and how to turn weaknesses into strengths!). The workshop also covers 15 related tips for college and follow up recommendations to grow the skills covered. A great workshop to get going on the soft skills needed for college! Online workshops must have at least 6 and are capped at 12 students to allow for maximum participation. Around 12 hours. Please note that due to the limited number of students that refunds will not be granted within 72 hours of the class.
**If someone needs an accommodation for the workshop, please inform us prior to the training. Thank you.
Career Counseling. Exploration of career interests using a simple and effective method developed with 25+ years of counseling. You get 1. exploration of career interests with solid possibilities 2. exploration of job outlook for careers of interest 3. training on exploration of career interests and job outlook (we work quickly and you are not strung along with several appointments -rather you are taught how to do as much of this as you can on your own) 4. guidance from a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor with a Masters Degree (MS, CRC) 5. the opportunity to work with a counselor who has been recognized with dozens of awards. $150 for first hour. $100/hr for any follow up if needed. The vast majority of my customers have only needed 1-2 appointments. There are no additional testing or assessment fees! Free consultations available.
**if you would like (not a requirement) you can send me a summary of any strengths, weaknesses, or disabilities (including accommodations needed - if you’re not sure that’s okay we can explore how to learn what’s needed together) I would need to know for career considerations prior to our appointment. I keep all information confidential, but please note that any information sent electronically is by definition not confidential (since it is not as safe) even though I will not share it with anyone.
College Counseling. Exploration of potential postsecondary learning sites with the student's career goal and financial ability as key components. Robert teaches along the way utilizing his 25+ years of counseling experience (with a MS, CRC) rather than makes the students/parents dependent on Robert. Robert believes in helping others become as self-reliant as possible while recognizing that reaching out for help is a strength. We will quickly review and compare the costs of multiple colleges/universities, their acceptance rates, average salaries based on colleges and degrees, we will discuss important rules of thumb on how many colleges to look into, how much debt is okay, public vs private costs, some potential cost saving measures and more. We will also review some important college prep activities. Note: a college prep checklist not found elsewhere will be provided, but is free to any who request one. As with career counseling, we train and work quickly - although only as fast as the customer is comfortable with. Consequently, we tend to be much quicker and much less expensive overall than comparable services (we encourage comparison shopping). Therefore we do charge more for the first hour and less for subsequent hours. $150 for the first hour. $100 for any follow up. There are no additional testing or assessment fees! Free consultations are available.
**It is very important to have a career goal before college counseling. We can review some information and work with hypotheticals if the student is stuck and really wants a college counseling session. However, please recognize the session would not be fully complete or successful without a career goal. Having several potential college landing spots in mind to explore would be helpful and save time, but we can work without them as well. If an accommodation is needed, please let me know. I keep all information confidential, but please note that any information sent electronically is by definition not confidential (since it is not as safe) even though I will not share it with anyone.
